What Are Massage Candles and What Supplies Do I Need To Make One?

Massage candles contain oils, which people apply to their skin once they melt. The oils can help nourish your skin and make you feel relaxed. Here are some candle making supplies needed to make these relaxing products:

    Waxes

Waxes used to make massage candles must be organic or natural and not produce soot while burning. Coconut waxes are a good choice because they don’t contain additives that harm the skin. They can be odorless or have pleasant scents to increase their soothing effects on users. The moisturizing ability of coconut waxes also makes them ideal for making massage candles.

Soy waxes are other candle making supplies you can purchase for your homemade products. They are environmentally friendly, healthy, and safe because of their natural ingredient, soybean oil. The low melting points of these supplies allow candles to produce comfortable temperatures that won’t burn your skin during massage. Mixing soy and coconut waxes can help make your homemade products softer and extend their shelf life in candle jars.

Beeswaxes are also ideal for making these products because of their natural fragrances and moisturizing effects. If your home has pollutants or molds, candles containing these supplies release negative ions to kill indoor allergens. The ability of beeswaxes to melt and pool at relatively low temperatures also makes them ideal for homemade massage candles.

    Fragrance Oils

Using fragrance or essential oils in massage candles may help enhance their aromatherapeutic effects. Homemade massage candles containing these oils may create a sensory delight that makes the massage more enjoyable. Fragrance oils are a suitable choice when making these candles because they retain their pleasant aromas for extended periods.

The oils come in various forms with varying characteristics to help you personalize your products based on the customer’s needs. Fragrance oils are also flexible and convenient for making massage candles because they blend quickly with different waxes. The oils also lack irritants that may cause complications for people with breathing problems.

Some pleasant smells produced by these oils include fruity, woody, and floral scents. Lavender, fresh rose, spicy geranium verbena, and vanilla oils can give floral aromas. Woody scents result from bamboo, cedar, or sandalwood essential oils. Pear pomegranate, passionfruit and guava, watermelon, or Bali mango oils can give your candles fruity or fresh aromas.

Fragrance or essential oils used in massage products require proper storage to keep them safe from moisture, heat, and air. These factors may cause the oils to become less effective and quickly lose their pleasant smells. Use storage tools like aromatherapy boxes, black glass bottles, or refrigerators to maintain the supplies’ efficacy and longevity.

    Liquid Dyes

Adding liquid dyes to your candles makes them aesthetically pleasing. The supplies also allow you to customize your products with the unique colors your customers want. High concentrations of liquid dyes make the colors bright and vivid, helping your candles stand out.

Liquid dyes are also better than solid dyes for massage candles because they mix and blend quickly with molten wax during the candle making process. This allows you to produce candles with consistent patterns, textures, and styles. Suppliers sell them in dropper bottles, allowing you to control the amount you add. Liquid dyes should be mixed with waxes at moderate temperatures to prevent them from evaporating.

    Wicks

Wooden, cotton, square braided, and cored wicks are quality options for massage candles. Quality wicks have fibers that intertwine to extend the burning duration. Knitted or intertwined fibers make wicks more rigid and help them burn consistently for longer. The pleasing crackling sounds produced by wooden wicks can make massage environments more relaxing. Different types of wooden wicks (softwood or hardwood) produce different levels of sound. Other non-wooden wick materials burn silently.

Before buying wholesale wicks for your homemade products, perform a burn test. The test helps you avoid using supplies that produce soot and inconsistent flames. The right wick will not cause tunneling, self-extinguishing, or mushrooming when burning a candle.

    Buy Wholesale Candle Making Supplies

Buying wholesale candle making supplies increases your business’s stock and ability to keep up with changing market demands. Bulk supplies may also save on shipment costs and allow you to enjoy discount benefits. Contact a wholesaler to get quality supplies for your massage candles.
