    The fast-paced life in the United States affects citizens’ livelihoods. Residents always rush to meet deadlines or catch up with specific day-to-day activities. With increasing responsibilities and busy schedules, most citizens do not pay more attention to their health demands. The fast-paced life directly affects particular aspects of health, including hormonal balance.

    Many hormones circulating in the body are either produced at increased or reduced levels due to unhealthy lifestyles adopted by people. For instance, unhealthy lifestyles will likely imbalance cortisol, insulin, thyroid, androgens. As a result, the prevalence of lifestyle diseases has exponentially increased in the United States.

    Stress and Cortisol Levels

    The fast-paced life in the United States is typically stressful, which triggers the body to release cortisol. When the body is consistently exposed to cortisol, it starts to experience the adverse effects of the hormone. Specifically, consistent exposure of human cells to cortisol suppresses the immune system, tissue growth, and reproductive system.

    Under normal body operations, referred to as hemostasis, the stress hormone should only be produced during flight or fight. However, the brain perceives the fast life in the U.S. as a stressor, triggering hormone production. Stressed people, therefore, remain anxious, depressed, and moody. Other problems from cortisol exposure include insomnia, headache, cardiovascular illnesses like increased blood pressure, and muscle strains.

    Human Growth Hormone

    The pituitary gland produces Human Growth Hormone (HGH). However, in a stressful environment precipitated by the fast-paced life in the U.S., its production is significantly affected. The low output of the human growth hormone due to stress leads to its deficiency in the body. A deficiency of HGH in the body is associated with multiple adverse effects, including retardation and decreased bone mineralization.

    The secondary effects of poor bone mineralization manifest in various forms of arthritis. The bones get weak and brittle with low calcium, sodium, and Potassium deposits. However, conditions resulting from the deficiency of human growth hormone can be corrected following the advice of a medical practitioner. Doctors can prescribe HGH to patients deficient in the hormone.

    Technological advancement has reached many places, and most drugs are available on online sites. Patients with low human growth can browse various medical sites and buy HGH online. Additionally, people who order HGH online should first establish that they are deficient in it before procuring the drug.

    Because HGH can be procured online, parents whose children are suffering from dwarfism should not be worried. Upon realization that their children are retarded, they can go for human growth hormone injections, thus, boosting their growth rates. The injected hormone performs the same function as the one secreted by the pituitary gland.

    Insulin and Blood Sugar Levels

    Insulin is responsible for regulating the blood sugar. Insulin, which removes the excess sugar in the form of glucose from the bloodstream, gets affected whenever a person is stressed. The fast-paced life of the U.S. demonstrates that most citizens experience various stressors in their daily activities. The consistent stressing environment adversely affects the functions of insulin.

    Stress antagonizes the functions of insulin, preventing it from converting the excess blood glucose to glycogen. The elevating blood glucose is likely to cause diabetes in patients whose insulin fails to work correctly. When people get stressed, cortisol and adrenaline hormones are released in high quantities. The two hormones cause insulin resistance, affecting glucose conversion to glycogen.

    To reduce the effects of excess blood sugar, the affected persons can engage in physical activities that require increased energy use. These activities increase the rate of metabolism, leading to the burning of excess glucose in the blood. As a result, blood glucose levels will likely reduce to normal levels. Diabetic patients with excess blood glucose can receive insulin injections to facilitate the conversion of glucose to glycogen in fatty tissues.

    Impact of Stress on Sex Hormones

    Stress affects the production of sex hormones, including testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. Sex hormone production is likely to decline whenever an individual experiences stressful moments. The stress hormone cortisol triggers the glands to secrete androgens in low quantities. Low levels of progesterone, testosterone, and estrogen in blood circulation directly affect reproductive processes.

    Testosterone, a hormone found in men and women, has adverse effects on the body when produced at low levels. For instance, low testosterone production increases the chances of developing obesity because it impedes metabolism. Additionally, low testosterone production leads to reduced lean weight and increases fatty acid deposits, predisposing an individual to obesity.

    Low estrogen levels also impact women. Estrogen naturally regulates the reproductive system in women, including the menstrual cycle. Low estrogen is associated with irregular menstrual cycles, moodiness, hot flashes, and other effects.

    The main antagonist of the progesterone hormone is the increased circulation of cortisol in the blood. The low production of progesterone hormone causes irregular bleeding, fibroids, inability to maintain pregnancy, and complications in the gall bladder.

    As discussed above, the fast-paced life in the United States presents many health challenges to American citizens. These challenges manifest in chronic illnesses that become costly to manage or treat. People advocate for healthy lifestyles by engaging in activities that create little or no stress. For example, United States citizens can consider engaging in physical activities that lower blood sugar levels and reduce stress.
