    1. Set Out Clear Screen Time Guidelines for Your Child

From the very start, the young age of your babies, decide on how much screen time you want them to have and put it out clearly. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that your little ones under the age of two should not have any screen time. If it is absolutely needed, your baby can be exposed to educational programs with a caregiver.

Once they are past their toddlerhood, allow them no more than one hour of screen time until they are five. Follow and set out these guidelines to create a good balance between digital engagement and the developmental activities of your baby.

    2. Choose Educational Content Over Overly-Stimulating Ones

All of your baby’s screen time can’t be equal. It is you as a parent who can decide whether your little one’s screen time helps them reach developmental milestones successfully or slows down their growth. How? By choosing the right content and applications.

Select age-appropriate and growth-enabling content and applications that can improve your baby’s creativity and problem-solving skills. Just steer clear of overly stimulating content like movies and cartoons, and you are good to go.

    3. Employ Parental Controls and Monitoring

As your baby uses their little fingers to make some digital moves, they become more vulnerable to cyber threats and unsafe content. You can tackle that by employing parental control settings on the devices and applications your child uses.

Moreover, manage the content your baby can access and see and ensure they remain safe in the digital realm by features like app restrictions, screen time limits, and website filters.

    4. Motivate your Baby to Participate in Outdoor and Offline Activities

Balance out the digital exposure and engagement of your little ones with physical and offline activities to stimulate their creativity and fancy. Use a good mix of some arts and crafts, outdoor play and games, book reading, and family gatherings and outings so your child can explore the world and develop critical motor, coordination, and social skills away from screens.

    5. Help Your Children Comprehend Digital Citizenship and Online Safety

Don’t sleep on the digital literacy of your little ones. It should start early as it is a big part of your children’s reality. Teach your kids about digital citizenship, online etiquette, and safe ways to use the Internet early on to lay strong groundwork for future digital behavior.

Lay great emphasis on the idea of privacy, respectful communication, online bullying, and spotting digital risks using age-appropriate language so their little brains can comprehend easily.

    6. Use Custom Electronic Signatures for Permissions and Documents

As your baby grows further, you need to manage administrative tasks for them, such as signing their daycare forms, school permissions, medical consent forms, and other documents. You can ace it all efficiently by getting a custom signature and using it. You can bid goodbye to frequent travel for these needs and streamline legal work with added professionalism and security in today’s digital world.

    7. Model Healthy and Controlled Digital Behavior

You are at the center of your child’s universe. From learning how to sip water to mopping the floors, they learn it all by seeing and observing you. When it comes to digital behavior, the case is no different. Whatever you do is what your babies will learn and practice, too. So, control your screen time and demonstrate healthy digital habits.

Engage in offline activities and communicate with utter respect online so your babies can pick that up and do the same. You wouldn’t want your child to become a bully. Already, there are many. 37% of young individuals aged between twelve and seventeen reported they were bullied online.

    8. Encourage Open Communication with Your Children

Always have open communication with your children about their digital experiences and that too, consistently. Motivate your children to share what their online activities look like, ask them questions in a friendly way, and show your concern in a balanced manner.

Listen like a supportive friend and advise them like a sibling when discussing online issues like cyberbullying and inappropriate content. You can be a strict parent later.

    Final Thoughts

Keeping pace with digitalization when it comes to parenting is not as hard as people make it. Following the right tips while growing your little ones amidst fast-paced tech advancements can make all the difference.

By being a proactive parent or caregiver, you can give your babies a safe, secure, and balanced environment that supports their growth whilst harnessing the benefits of these digital advancements.

Just follow these tips and nurture your baby in the best way!
